Welcome to the ITE Forum, a platform for universities, Teacher Training Institutes (TTIs), teacher trainers, students teachers, companies, policy-makers and other education bodies to inspire change in Initial Training Education (ITE).
Both European and national policies underline the importance of the development of digital pedagogical skills in teachers: the competencies to use technology in teaching and learning. But are teachers in training missing out? Are they being prepared to teach tomorrow’s citizens? Will they enter the classroom with the requisite digital and pedagogical skills?

The ITEForum is a platform to share insights about innovation in ITE curricula, stimulate discussion among different ITE stakeholders and facilitate the implementation of these progressing ideas.

And this was very much the case at the recent ITELab Universities – Industry workshop in Brussels where we deliberated on our progress to date in relation to the project and – more importantly – our plans for the next stages of the work.

Contemporary use of ICT based approaches to STEM education provides students with plenty opportunities for inquiry. ICT environments that offer simulations, games, data sets, and/or remote and virtual laboratories are especially relevant in this scenario.
